Students of Ladoke Aakintola University of Technology Lautech located at Ogbomoso, Oyo state could breathe a sigh of relief as the federal government of Nigeria has taken ownership of the university due to lack of funds by Oyo and Osun state governments.
The institution comprising of six faculties was established in 1990 and was then known as state university of technology and later changed to Ladoke Aakintola university of technology (Lautech).
According to Oyerinde bode who shared the news on his social media handle, a meeting was held in Abuja between the two states and the Federal Government before the agreement was made.
The buy-out fee was not made known to the public but the two states will still have shares in the university with reports saying the university will be re-announced soon as The University of Technology, Ogbomoso (UNITECH).
