The Ogun state Amotekun Corps has arrested a 40-year-old man identified as Sodade Sesan for attempting to steal a motorcycle and kill the owner in Ode-Remo, Remo North local government area of the state.

According to a statement from the agency, on April 4, the suspect had flagged down a commercial motorcyclist while riding his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.

After negotiating an agreement fare of N800 to and fro Iperu, the suspect took out a knife and slit the victim’s neck when they reached a deserted area.

The victim was rushed to Ogere Medical Centre, where he was treated and discharged, while the suspect removed the number plate of the stolen motorcycle and dumped it in a latrine in his residence.

The suspect then took the motorcycle to a burial ground at Kehinde Avenue, Isara-Remo, looking for potential buyers.

However, the operatives of the Amotekun Corps were able to recover the stolen motorcycle and arrest the suspect, who confessed to the crime during interrogation. The case has been transferred to the State CID for prosecution.
