The ongoing supplementary gubernatorial polls in Adamawa State have seen Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party maintaining his lead. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far collated results from 10 out of the 20 local government areas where the supplementary elections are taking place.

The March 18 election had been declared inconclusive by INEC following controversies that trailed results from some local government areas. Governor Fintiri had emerged as the front-runner, scoring 421,524 votes in the March 18 governorship election against Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who garnered 390,275 votes.

The supplementary election was conducted in a total of 69 polling units with 36,935 eligible voters. Results of the 10 local government areas that have been collated so far show Governor Fintiri leading with 4,292 votes while Binani received 3,128 votes. The final result is yet to be announced by INEC
