The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), according to the Federal government, are a terrorist organization, and it has urged Western nations to cease supporting them.

During his official meetings with a few foreign media outlets and policy institutes in Washington, DC, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, issued the warning.

Recall that the minister is in Washington to discuss the recently completed 2023 polls with international media organizations and think tanks.

“The Nigerian government has designated IPOB as a terrorist organization, but some western nations have been harboring and cooperating with the unlawful organization.”

The minister claimed that “they permit them to raise money; some permit them to lobby their Congressmen and lawmakers, and whatever fund they realize, they use it to destabilize the country.”

Mohammed argued that it is hypocritical for the West to claim it is battling terrorism while secretly aiding a terrorist group.

During the encounters, the minister also urged the international media to refrain from reposting online urban legends about the elections in Nigeria scheduled for 2023.
