The president would do the Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi while in Madinah before travelling for Makkah via Jeddah late on Wednesday for the shorter trip.

Saudi Arabia’s Madinah has welcomed President Muhammadu Buhari for an eight-day official visit.

At 9:10 a.m. on Monday, the presidential jet carrying Buhari and a few of his staff members left Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja and touched down in Madinah at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport Madinah about 17 p.m. local time.

Before leaving for Makkah through Jeddah late on Wednesday for the shorter pilgrimage, the president would observe the five daily prayers as well as the Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi while in Madinah.

The president’s spokesperson, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed in a statement on Monday that Buhari’s upcoming official visit to the Kingdom from April 11 to 19 will be his final as president.
