Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, came under fire from Awuzie for seeking to equate Obi’s behavior with treason.

According to Frankline Awuzie, a Nigerian youth activist, seeking restitution in court is not a crime for anyone who feels wronged, according to Daily Trust.

He made this comment in response to a petition that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi had submitted to contest the Independent National Electoral Commission’s designation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the winner of the election. (INEC).

Awuzie claimed that the alleged scheme to implicate Obi merely because he is contesting the results of the February 25 presidential election would backfire during a press conference in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, came under fire from Awuzie for seeking to equate Obi’s behavior with treason.

The youth leader argued that rather than condemning Obi, the political establishment should applaud him for his insistence on looking into legal avenues for contesting the results of the presidential election.

According to our rules, contesting the results of an election in court or before the Election Petitions Tribunal, as is the case in Nigeria, is not illegal, according to Awuzie. The plan to convict Obi for objecting to INEC’s actions on February 25 will fail.

“All of Lia Mohammed’s desperate attempts to shut down Mr. Peter Obi, from the doctoring of his telephone conversation with Bishop David Oyedepo to the treasonable charges allegation against him by the minister of Information and Culture,”

Obi has acknowledged that he is being pressured to leave the nation, but those who are scheming this evil against a man for whom Nigerians freely cast their votes have forgotten that petitioning a court to overturn an election result is a normal part of campaigning.

“They ought to leave Peter Obi alone. He hasn’t broken any laws. The results of the presidential election on February 25 will be determined by our courts. A man of the people, Peter Obi. He has diligently adhered to and upheld the law.
