Upon further questioning, it was discovered that the accused had disposed of the stolen laptop for a sum of twelve thousand naira (₦12,000) and subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the buyer.

On Thursday, April 13, 2023, a 24-year-old man named Richard Olopele was arrested by the Bayelsa State Volunteers for allegedly stealing an HP laptop.

The incident occurred at Agudama-Epie, which is a community located in Yenagoa, the state capital. According to reports, Richard Olopele is originally from Arogbo Community in Ondo State but is presently residing in Agudama, Bayelsa State.

After his arrest, the suspect reportedly made a confession, admitting to breaking into the living quarters of Engr. Lambert Miebi in Agudama-Epie. He had apparently gained entry to the home under the pretense of looking for his friend, who happened to be a relative of Lambert. The stolen laptop was reportedly an HP model.

Further investigation revealed that Richard had sold the laptop for ₦12,000 to an unidentified individual. However, it was later reported that the buyer had been apprehended by the authorities.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa State Command for further investigation and prosecution.
