While attempting to free some hostages from their captors, the traditionalist and two other people perished in a car mishap on Monday along the Ila/Edemonsi/Imesi-Ile Road.

Oba Abdullah Adetoyese Olakisan, the head of the Ogboni globally, has reportedly passed away, according to the Daily Post.

The traditionalist was killed along with two other people in a car mishap on Monday while attempting to free some hostages from their captors along the Ila/Edemonsi/Imesi-Ile Road.

Additionally, it was discovered that two of the Oba Ogboni Agbaye’s wives had been abducted by som gunmen who had assaulted his home early on Monday.

According to information obtained by DAILY POST, the vehicle’s occupants at the time of the collision included Oba Olakisan, the officer in command of the Imesi-Ile police station, and a female.

Acting on the information given by one of the suspects, the traditionalist, the police officer and the woman, went after the abductors towards Ila but were involved in the accident while returning to Imesi-Ile.

Yemisi Opalola, the Osun State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO confirmed the incident.

Opalola also confirmed that the Command had commenced a search and rescue operation to free the victims.

“The Ogboni leader, the Police OC Imesi-Ile and a woman were inside his (Olakisan’s) car coming back to Imesi after reaching Ila, searching for his wives that were abducted, when they had an accident.

“The car collided with a tree. There was just one mishap.

“They were taken to a hospital right away, but they all passed away. Our guys are still conducting the search and rescue operation inside the bush, she said.

On Sunday, the Command also revealed that it had freed a woman who had been abducted on Friday along the Osogbo-Ikirun Road.
