Eight people have reportedly been killed by bandits in Atak Njei, Ungwa Gaiya Ward, located in the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The attack occurred on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at around 9:00 pm, and many others were injured.

The incident was confirmed by Francis A. Sani, the Executive Council Chairman, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant, Yabo Chris Ephraim.

Sani described the attack as “unprovoked killings of innocent and peaceful people.” He expressed his concern about the security agencies’ inability to make a single arrest or bring the perpetrators to justice after several attacks.

According to the statement, the residents of the community accused the security agencies of collusion in the series of attacks on their communities.

As a result, they requested the removal of soldiers who have not been able to offer any protection against these deadly attacks despite being stationed a few yards from the scenes of attacks.

The chairman sympathized with the families of the deceased and has made arrangements for the burial of those killed.
