Nigerians now know something about the appalling condition of the corpers lodge in Asaba, the capital of Delta state, thanks to human rights campaigner Harrison Gwamnishu.
In a video he posted, the corpers’ mattresses could be seen lying outside the bungalow that functions as their lodging, each with a mosquito net above it.
According to Harrison, the state government has constructed a new hostel for corp members, but it has not yet been made available for use. He pleaded with the state government to open the lodge so that the corp members could reside in a respectable setting.
