The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, has taken action against the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Okokomaiko, SP Emmanuel Edebagha, for failing to supervise his officers. This action follows an incident where officers from the division falsely accused a Lagos-based phone dealer of fraud and extorted N100,000 from him.

According to the state spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, CP Owohunwa has ordered the immediate removal of the DPO and the commencement of disciplinary action against him and all the officers involved in the incident. Hundeyin announced the development on Twitter.

All indicted officers are already in the state headquarters and will face disciplinary action. The removal of the DPO is aimed at holding him responsible for failing to properly supervise his officers.
