In October 2021, a few Plateau State House of Assembly members impeached Abok.

But after a one year and six month long legal fight, he appealed his impeachment to the state’s highest court.

In his ruling, Justice M. L. Musa ruled that the censure was unlawful, void, and without legal standing.

The Court further granted the opponents N138,000 in filing fees and N20 million in appearance fees as compensation for their costs.
