In response to a request for the document’s confirmation made by a Mary Nneoma Elijah, NYSC has declined to issue Mbah’s certificate.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) management claims that Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the incoming governor of Enugu State, was not given a Certificate of National Service.
Recall that opposition political parties charged Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with submitting a fraudulent NYSC certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission in the run-up to the March 18, 2023 governorship election. (INEC).
The Enugu State PDP Campaign Council, however, disputed the alleged falsification of the NYSC certificate, calling it a rumor of a lame opposition and the final gasp of a dying horse.
According to a statement from the campaign council’s director of public communications and spokeswoman, Nana Ogbodo, the opposition in the state realized they had no chance of winning the governorship race and turned to smear operations as a result.
In contrast, the NYSC rejected granting Mbah’s certificate in response to a request for the document’s confirmation made by a Mary Nneoma Elijah.
This was stated by the NYSC in a letter of response to a request for information on Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s status with the NYSC and confirmation of a certificate that was enclosed. Ibrahim A. Muhammad, the director of corps certification, has signed this application in accordance with Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act of 2011 (FOIA).
Mbah’s certificate, with Certificate Number: A808297, was not given by the Scheme, according to a letter from NYSC dated February 1, 2023, which was obtained by SaharaReporters.
“I am required to make reference to your letter dated November 23, 2022, on the aforementioned subject, and to express management’s happiness for compliance with the NYSC Act’s requirement regarding the presentation of the Certificate of National Service or Exemption Certificate by employees and potential employees who hold degrees and HND certificates.
“We are happy to notify you that the Certificate of National Service that belongs to Mbah Peter Ndubuisi and was provided for verification with Certificate Number: A808297 was not granted by the NYSC.
